Dwarka is an ancient city in the northwestern Indian state of Gujarat. It’s known as a Hindu pilgrimage site. The ancient Dwarkadhish Temple has an elaborately tiered main shrine, a carved entrance and a black-marble idol of Lord Krishna. Dwarka Beach and nearby Dwarka Lighthouse offer views of the Arabian Sea."Bet Dwarka" is believed to have been the actual residential place of Lord Krishna during his ruling years at Dwarka. It is said the lord resided with his family at Bet Dwarka. The Somnath temple located on the western coast of Gujarat, India is believed to be the first among the twelve jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva.Reconstructed several times in the past after repeated destruction by several Muslim invaders and rulers.The present temple was reconstructed in Chaulukya style of Hindu temple architecture and completed in May 1951. The reconstruction was started under the orders of the Home Minister of India Vallabhbhai Patel and completed after his death. Besides Africa, Gir National Park in Gujarat is the only place in the world where you can spot lions roaming free in the wild. Diu is a coastal town at the eastern end of Diu Island, India. A bridge connects the island to the state of Gujarat. Overlooking the Arabian Sea, Diu Fort, a 16th-century Portuguese citadel, features a lighthouse and cannons. Inland, centuries-old St. Paul’s Church was built in elaborate baroque style. Nearby, whitewashed St. Thomas Church is now home to the Diu Museum, with wooden carvings and religious artifacts.

Itinerary

Drive from Ahmedabad to Jamnagar which is about a 5 hours’ drive. In Jamnagar, we will visit the Bala Hanuman Temple. The Bala Hanuman Temple in Jamnagar is listed in The Guinness Book of World Records for the longest continuous chanting of "Ram Dhun" (since 1 August 1964). Also in the Guinness Book of Records is the world's largest Rotla, which weighed 63.99 kg (141 lb 1 oz) since 15 January 2005. Jamnagar is popularly known as "Chhoti Kashi" due to many temples in the city and as people are inclined to spirituality and to diversified religions. After the tour of Jamnagar, we will drive for another 2/3 hours to reach our hotel in Dwarka. Check into your hotel and transfer to the boat jetty in Okha for your tour to Bet Dwarka. Okha is about a 40 minutes drive away from Dwarka. Bet Dwarka is an island surrounded by sea from all sides. Boat service is available between Okha and Bet-Dwarka. Bet Dwarka is considered a part of the ancient city in Indian epic literature, the abode of Krishna, found in the Mahabharata and Skanda Purana. Later return by boat to Dwarka and back to the hotel. If wishing, you may also go for the last Darshan at Dwarkadhish Temple before 0930 pm Temple is open from 0630 am – 0100 pm and then from 0500 pm – 0930 pm. Overnight at the hotel in Dwarka.

Early this morning before breakfast we will be visit Dwarkadhish Temple for morning aarti and darshan. The temple opens at 6:30 am. Return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast drive from Dwarka to Porbandar which is about a 2 hours’ drive. In Porbandar, we will visit Kirti temple, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi (The Father of Nation). The House of Kasturabba Gandhi, the wife of Mahatma Gandhi, is located just at the back of the Kirti temple. Further, we will visit the Gandhi museum, study room of Mahatma Gandhi and Sudama temple. After the tour of Porbandar, we will be driven for about an hour to reach Somnath. We begin our tour of Somnath by first visiting Bhalka Teerth. Bhalka Teerth is the place where Lord Krishna was resting in the shed of a tree and he was hit by an arrow on thumb of his feet. The arrow was shot by hunter Jara after which he is said to have left the earth for the heavenly abode. Later, we will visit Somnath temple if interested you may stay till late and enjoy evening aarti and sound and light show. Somnath is believed to be the first among the twelve jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. It is an important pilgrimage and tourist spot of Gujarat. Reconstructed several times in the past after repeated destruction by several Muslim invaders and rulers, the present temple was reconstructed in Chaulukya style of Hindu temple architecture and completed in May 1951. The reconstruction was started under the orders of the Home Minister of India Vallabhbhai Patel and completed after his death. Later we will drive for another 1 hour to reach our hotel in Sasangir or you may opt to drive 02 hours to stay at Diu. Check into your hotel. Overnight at hotel in Sasangir or Diu if opted.

This morning if opting for Sasangir , morning jeep safari in the game park. If at Diu, enjoy beach activities and visit Diu Fort. Afternoon check out before heading back to Ahmedabad (365 Kms/8 hours drive).

A Non refundable Advance booking amount of INR5000 is must to book the tour. 100% tour cost to be paid 45 days before commencement of the tour.  For Any booking with in 45 days of tour date, 100% tour cost to be paid. For domestic tours ( within India) if the tour cost is less or equal to INR25000 PP than 100% amount has to be paid for booking the tour.
