Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Sasan Gir, is a forest and wildlife sanctuary near Talala Gir in Gujarat. It is home to the Asiatic Lion. The Asiatic Lion Census was conducted in May 2015 which found that the population of lions was 523 (27% up compared to previous census in 2010). The population was 411 in 2010 and 359 in 2005. The Fern Gir Forest Resort is a favorite resort among travelers when visiting the famous Asiatic lions at Sasan Gir. This morning, drive by your own vehicle from Ahmedabad to Sasan Gir. The distance from Ahmedabad to Sasan Gir is about 350 kms which takes about 8 hours. Once you reach Sasan Gir, check in at The Fern Gir Forest Resort which is a beautiful resort built in ethnic style inspired by local design. The resort offers a plenty of facilities ranging from a fine dining restaurant, swimming pool, amphitheatre, kids play area and gym. Use of some of these facilities may be restricted as per instructions from local health authorities. Dinner and overnight at the resort.
Early this morning, proceed for a game drive (game drives are not included in package cost and not operational till 16th October) to see the famous Asiatic Lions. Return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast you can visit Kamaleshwar Dam and Sasan Gir Museum using your own vehicle. Late afternoon you can proceed for another game drive or relax at the hotel. Return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
This morning after breakfast, you have the choice of keeping your room till 6 PM (subject to availability of rooms). The resort will sanitize your car for your return trip. End your stay refreshed and take back happy memories.
