Our home , the green planet Earth is so fragile and yet its inner core is hard Nickel and Iron. What a coincidence I feel, it seems similar to the travel industry, fragile to be affected by every change be it cultural, political , economic or climatic yet resilient in its inner strength to forever create for people a world of happiness , self-discovery and exploration of this amazing world.
I often press the restart button of my laptop at times if the system hangs or a file is corrupted and mostly it works and the system returns to normal. It seems our mother Earth has just pressed the restart button on us ,as humans corrupted and polluted its land and seas . For many years it showed system failures with droughts, floods and climate change worldwide. At home in lockdown due to Covid-19, the best outcome has been how cities have cleared of smog , rivers have cleaned of factory waste and pollutants and most of all we see wildlife rejoicing in sharing the space with humans. Be it dolphins returning to Venice canals or Flamingoes in Mumbai. Today ,on this Earth day, I feel happy that the restart button has worked and when we return to travel, we shall all respect our environment and be thankful for the gift of being able to enjoy this beautiful world.
